The Guru Granth Sahib Experience.....?

Posted on Nov 27th, 2009 by Bob

Sometimes  I have langar or free food at the local Sikh temple, or gurdwara in Slough (near Montem). I have the greatest respect for Sikhism. It ofcourse does not have a Living Master as their guide but their  holy book the Guru Granth Sahib acts as their Teacher instead, and is worshipped, and respected as if it were a highly esteemed  "human being".I once had four copies of this marvellously inspired mystical work which if I recall correctly was  translated by Dr. Gopal Singh. I bought them at a Radha Soami Satsang Beas meeting in London!

I have to admit that I did find it difficult to accept a book rather than a living spiritual master as a guide. But  my views have changed. It is possible, and feasible. The reason for this change of heart is when I saw the Guru Granth Sahib being taken out of a car covered in cloth. This happened just outside the gurdwara. Some people nearby paid a respectful namaste, or greeting to it. I did likewise, and much to my surprise a ray of light shot from it at me. Whether this was a trick of the mind, or something else is difficult to know.

However, I have seen pictures of the Guru Granth Sahib with spiritual energies depicted around it. This indicates that it is more than just a book.......

PS. I was surprised to hear that the Hindu Temple in Slough was the first one to be built in Britain. It is very close to where I live in Chalvey, and  found out about this when a group inspired by the Guru Ravi Shankar (not the musician ofcourse!)  was making a presentation of their yogic teachings in December 2008.This group incidently claimed that it was the largest voluntary organization in the world. I do not know how true this claim is but I like to keep an open mind..

Transfinancial Economics Revised P2P Foundation Entry/Nov 2009

Transfinancial Economics

From P2P Foundation

Jump to: navigation, search

Transfinancial Economics,or TFE is an emerging global paradigm for economic and financial reform. It is concerned with the possible introduction of a Non-Debt Based Economy which would be free of taxation, and interest on credit. It could replace the present Debt-Based Economy which ofcourse has taxation, and interest. However, the Non-Debt Based Economy could lead to a degree of inflation ofcourse but it could be directly, and easily contained with the use of advanced technology.

At the present time there are huge growing global problems. These include food security, poverty alleviation, population growth, and most notably global warming which if largely unchecked could lead to gargantuan economic costs, and massive loss of life.

Though there is arguably more than enough money to change the world the problem lies with legal access to it. In TFE this situation is remedied, and facilitated. It can work with the vested interests notably banks, and corporations in such as way to bring about mass environmental sustainability, and even a high degree of global justice.

Though ofcourse capital in itself is not the complete answer to the problems of the world it is at the basis of them. Thus, our present financial/economic system needs to be urgently addressed, and reformed into something more advanced, and beneficial.

TFE can be viewed as a very advanced form of Heterodox Economics. It may well one day replace, or rather modify out-dated Neo-Classical Economics which still dominates academia, and the policy making of many governments in the developed world, and elsewhere.

Important Notice to Readers

Please note, and understand that Transfinancial Economics, or TFE is still in the process of research, and development. There are still grey areas to be addressed, and this may well require consultation with relevant experts.......

....At the time of writing (July 2009) due to the financial crisis there has been much global financial instability in which the Dollar notably as the main reserve currency of the world has been put into doubt. However, the International Monetary Fund has been trying to stabilize the global economy with the introduction of Special Drawing Rights, or SDRs. No doubt TFE could add a new dimension to all this but this is not presently discussed here...

....Moreover, a form of limited TFE sans electronic monitoring, (used for checking inflation levels, and explained later on) and similiar to SDRs could if necessary be used depending on context. A case in point is the EUs seeming desire to help the developing world financially in connection with global warming. The amount suggested would probably not be enough as indicated by most environmental NGOs. With limited TFE it would be possible to electronically create new non-repayable money(ie commercial grants), and ofcourse repayable loans in sufficient amounts.

Basic Summary of TFE

Transfinancial Economics, or TFE believes that taxes, and interest on loans are no longer necessary in the 21st century. It believes in two types of capital "flows" or rather electronic transmissions of money in the economy.

New Non-Repayable Money

This is created, and transmitted into the economy to replace taxation of open democratic government, and grants which could partly, or fully fund NGOs, and similiar type organizations. It is like the non-orthodox method known in economics as Quantitative Easing notably used in the credit crunch.

Since reformed banks of the future would have a highly accurate scientific understanding of the workings of much of the economy they would also be able to produce enough new non-repayable money to ensure that serious inflation cannot in the main occur. Thus, any direct price controls would probably be unnecessary as the equilibrium, or balance between supply, and demand would on the whole be maintained. Hence, the Free Price System continues to exist.

Yet, as prices gradually rise the value of peoples money would also do likewise. This national adjustment to inflation would be achieved "instantaneously", and electronically via the banks computers.

It should be clearly indicated again that there is a measured creation of enough new non-repayable money which cannot, and does not lead to hyperinflation (eg. the Russian Revolution, the Weimar Republic, the French Revolution,et al). In other words, it does not flood the economy way beyond its rate of growth which is obviously insane.

It is also very interesting to point out here that in cases of hyperinflation there was a mass printing of new money which arguably more easily enters the general circulation of the economy unlike the creation of electronic money as undertaken in TFE.

However, limited TFE(mentioned earlier), or creating "enough" money is perfectly possible without any comprehensive electronic inflation monitoring (explained later).Evidence does seem to suggest this. Thus, urgently tackling something like global warming in the Developing World as indicated earlier on would be a serious possibility. But such transmissions of new capital should also start to phase in the development of electronic inflation monitoring on a national, and international scale.

Earned Money

This is simply money which is in circulation, or saved in the economy. This is received by business people, and their employees as profits, and/or wages through productive commercial activity, and work. Both new non-repayable capital, and its earned equivalent exist together in the economy.

It is interesting to point out here to that there is a huge amount of non-repayable money already spent into circulation. Here, we are referring to funding given by open democratic governments notably in rich countries such as the EU,and the UK.This ofcourse is earned money. But, interest bearing loans which exist in todays economies are created largely out of thin air electronically by banks via the process of fractional reserve banking also more commonly known as credit creation in economics. This is not earned money but is like non-repayable money of TFE except ofcourse it is repayable over a period of time. Huge donations also exist for NGOs. These can be seen as being non-repayable but they originated as earned money.

What we are trying to say here is that it is clear that if enough new non-repayable money is created it would lead to some inflation but to nothing more serious (ie. hyperinflation). Incidently, cash could still exist, and as in todays world it would make up a near non-existent portion of the entire money supply.

Anyway, here is how Transfinancial Economics in brief works.

  1. Most self-employed people, and entrepreneurs would have to register their businesses with the inflation authority (replacing the taxation authority, and ofcourse, its legislation).
  2. Each product, and/or service has to be registered with special ID codes (like-present day barcodes), and accounting procedures by law would have to be undertaken ideally on a daily basis. This would involve the use of a number of electronic devices (eg. electronic cash registers, laptops, mobile phones, etc)which could transmit accounting data, and in certain cases as money to the inflation department of bank as it is after all electronic information.
  3. The bank monitors the incoming electronic info of the ID codes of registered products, and/or services every day. This happens on specially programmed computers which would have powers to instantly compare the market prices.
  4. In the unlikely event that there are serious price rises in a part of the economy electronic intervention may be necessary via an array of super-flexible price/inflation controls targetted at certain registered products, and/or services.
  5. Due to the advance programming of the banks computers it would also be possible to work out using direct, and highly accurate incoming accounting data to decide how much new non-repayable money can be created with an assessment of potential inflation risk.

Four Key Implications of TFE

A. New non-repayable money (largely monitored, and possibly paid in instalments electonically) as commercial grants, or as repayable interest free credit would be able to successfully increase productivity, and prosperity more quickly for businesses in a continous fashion. The ideal as far as possible is to bring about a high degree of "simultaneous" growth so that supply, and demand are largely in equilibrium.

B. Carefully targetted comprehensive financial incentives or schemes where necessary would ensure that businesses become genuinely sustainable, and environmentally friendly. Those projects which are commerciallly unviable but vital to the world would receive the "right" subsidies, grants, and interest free loans created ofcourse out of new non-repayable money. This could in part come from governments, and more often, or not be created electronically by special (re-structured) private banks. In other words, we would have something akin to a very advanced form of "Neo-Keynesian Economics".But if desired the private sector could play a far greater role as far as this "interventionism" is concerned as already indicated. Special banks whose financial interactions could be monitored electronically by an independent body, or by the Central Bank (to prevent fraud, or indeed, creating too much credit!)could profit by issuing non-repayable finance (largely monitored electronically ofcourse)for mainly "non-viable" projects notably in the environmental arena.

In fact, financial incentives would increase if any company seriously considers a green approach to their business. This would encourage others to follow suit.Going green is already something appreciated by business to some extent but a TFE stimulus package from the private, and public sector would be far more advanced, and comprehensive than anything else seen before in our world. Admitedly, this could lead to some market distortion which is partly deliberate (to notably encourage the vital need for sustainable green growth which is all-important), and could be addressed to a certain extent with the electronic creation, and transmission of new non-repayable money as instant compensation, or as a form of price subsidy.

C. Charities, or NGOs concerned notably with high ethical issues,(eg. transparency in government, and business, human rights abuses, direct democracy/e-democracy,fairer wealth distribution, etc) and humanitarianism (eg.food relief, AIDs research, heart disease, et al) would probably be partly, or fully funded without the need for fundraising.

D. With TFE it would be possible to reach a situation in which work as we would understand it would no longer exist, or be necessary as technological automation would largely, or perhaps wholly replace labour. It would be possible to create, and transmit new non-repayable money to support people successfully.Taxation using earned money can only go so far as it relies on a traditional comprehension of economic growth.

A more "detailed" list based on the above key implications of TFE are explained in brief near the end of this p2pfoundation entry

It should be repeated here that some people believe that there is more than enough financial wealth to change the world. This may well be true. But since fairer redistribution is unlikely to happen then the best, and easiest way forward is to create new non-repayable money in a responsible manner, and allowing legal access to it whenever there is a genuine need via some credible agency, or agencies.

What follows now is a more detailed enlargement of what has been stated here along with other relevant information.

Please also note that the kheper essay on TFE is out of date and should be replaced as its understanding on inflation controls is no longer fully relevant, or authorative in the light of new understanding, and research.

Please also note this p2p entry on TFE maybe updated giving clearer insights..

Key Decision-Making Bodies

Here, we shall briefly explain who, and what undertakes the decision making process as far as the creation, and transmission of new non-repayable money is concerned.

Open Democratic Government

TFE exists in the context of an open democracy. Future national governments, and local governments could order the creation, and transmission of new non-repayable money from an independent public authority, or from banks, or indeed, the Central Bank. Relevant electronic checks would among other things be necessary to see what the short term, medium term, and long term potential effects of inflation. Moreover, overspending would be curbed to a high degree.

The Banks (Re-Structured)

It is expected that banks, and banking will remain largely in the private sector in spite of the credit crunch. They could be nationalized in full, or in part but this is not a serious issue in TFE. However, they could have special powers to create, and transmit new non-repayable money to certain businesses (notably those serious about becoming environmentally friendly but where there is little, or no commercial viability ofcourse), and also ofcourse repayable interest free credit. The interest would not be paid for by customers but by the Central Bank, or some independent public authority. As for non-repayable grants their cost, or "grant interest" could be treated in a like fashion.

It is clear that a business model could be created for private banks to ensure super-normal profits. They could well become even more powerful than before but with better regulation but not "over-regulation". Thus, they would not loose out even if they would no longer create loans where necessary for governments "deficit spending".

Independent Grant Giving Bodies to NGOs

These, like the above already exist. They notably come in the form of trusts, and foundations. Their job is to decide which NGOs get new non-repayable capital as grants. Their efficiency in doing this could be reformed where necessary.

Thus, donations, and fundraising will be largely unnecessary for most NGOs as they would receive the vital funding to continue their work.

Basic Ethical Arguments for the Creation of New Non-Repayable Money

There are a number of key points which make the concept of new non-repayable money acceptable along with its earned counterpart.

1.All money originates from an unearned source of creation. As such from an objective viewpoint it has equal value to its earned counterpart as it would be legal tender.

2.So-called Free Money already exists to a limited extent (eg government grants, donations, wills leaving money).

3.Critics would like to point out that if new non-repayable money could be created, and transmitted without uncontrolled inflation it would mean that earning it in the first place would no longer be necessary. This ofcourse would lead to the collapse of the economy, and social chaos.

TFE though sees itself as a transitional, or evolutionary process in which we should have the mental maturity to realize that earning money is still essential until the time comes when "full"automation exists, and society becomes "jobless" in a traditional economic sense. It is then that new non-repayable money could play a vital role by helping to bring into existence "leisure-like employments" which would be possible either in a profit, or/and non-profit context. Ultimately, in some future time money itself would be abolished altogether. In other words,a hi-tech gifting economy similiar to something like The Venus Project (originated by Jacque Fresco,a populariser of Technorcracy).

4.Some critics would say that new non-repayable money is Funny Money. Yet, they fail to realize the fact that it already exists as most of the banks create it out of thin air as a loan which is repayable...

5.TFE should be seen as a kind of ethical economics because it sees money as having a High Human Value other than just a medium of exchange because its social, economic, and political implications are huge, and all-encompassing.

Important Moral Arguments for Non-Taxation

There are a number of key arguments for the abolition of direct, and indirect taxation. They are;-

1.Tax raising is absurd especially as it is very possible for new non-repayable money to be created, and transmitted safely into the economy using advanced computer programming.

2.Everyone should be entitled to all their earned money as a human right.

3.It is highly unethical to finance any misuse of government spending.

4. People should be rewarded by a policy of Non-Taxation as they are the actual the main creators of real wealth.

5.Evidence suggests that many rich, and super-rich people are finding loopholes to escape the taxman notably off-shore accounts. This means that people on lower incomes have to "subsidize" the well off so to speak which ofcourse is unfair.

Moreover, it has become very easy to transmit bank accounts to other countries thus making the investigation by tax inspectors difficult.Whether recent attempts to "crackdown" on all this largely succeeds, or not remains to be seen.

6.Quite a number of wars, and revolutions were caused directly, or indirectly by unfair taxes.

Electronic Business Accounting, and Regular Capital Transmissions

Inflation legislation would replace taxation regulations. The former would involve by law highly accurate electronic accounting by most businesses. One common form of it are the electronic registers at checkouts at supermarkets (ie. EPOS/ Electronic Point of Sales). Depending on the commercial situation lap top computers, mobile phones, and other like devices could also be used in this process.

Thus, business people, and/or their staff would by law have to ideally on a daily basis report their transaction accounts electronically to the inflation department of the bank which could in part, or in full be overseen by the public Inflation Authority. Moreover, putting profits into the bank from sales of registered products, and/or services would require declaring their relevant ID Codes, or else it cannot be processed.

In certain cases, the actual electronic transmission of such data can be legally interpreted not only as an accounting communication but also as money simultaneously. The latter it should forever be remembered is at the end of the day electronic data though we hate to think of it as such.

The business accounts in the banks are closely monitored electronically to avoid false accounting, and fraud. This could involve a number of electronic checks, and if any company is found wanting it could be directly fined electronically. This in the main would be largely an automatic process run by advanced bank computer programming.

An Electronic Profile of the Economy

As accounting data, and profits are received together or separately as electronic transmissions at the bank from various businesses a highly accurate electronic macroeconomic picture of the economy of a country can be built up. Thus, future economists would have far better data to forecast trends unlike the Economic Indicators of present day Neo-Classical Economics. All this is ofcourse revolutionary. Such an advanced electronic profile of the economy could include a whole host of other things apart from identified transactions of specific goods, and services...notably the electronic monitoring of fluctuations in wages, and many other forms of identified income in peoples bank accounts. Admitedly, all this raises too questions of privacy, and disclosure. Thus, good thought-through legislation would be necessary to deal with such issues.

Advanced Computer Programming

With the influx of accounting, and transaction data of registered goods, and services the banks computers would be well-programmed to do the following which includes:-

a.Instantly comparing prices of registered goods, and services.

b.Be able to monitor changes in the monetary supply that are seen as inflationary in parts of the economy due to registered transactions, and accounting data received electronically by the bank.

c.Be able to detect potential high risk inflation, and be able if absolutely necessary to target the relevant prices of the registered goods, and services concerned which may be causing "problems". After informing the relevant bank customers an instant temporary electronic control, or controls may be used to alleviate the situation. This is discussed a little later. However, it should be stressed that all this is highly unlikely to occur if the electronic inflation management is undertaken properly.

d.Using existing in-coming accounting data it would be possible with the right computer programming to work out and see the sort of potential inflation levels which could take place in relation to specific transmissions of new non-repayable (and/or repayable)capital in connection with projects of one sort, or another. A set of low, high, or higher potential risk assesments on inflation could be given automatically. In other words, an electronic model could be used to "stress test" the robustness of financing in full, or part a project(s) in relation to the actual economy itself.

The creation, and transmission of an electronically measured amount of new non-repayable money to relevant bank accounts could be decided by computers, or by the human decision-making process, or ofcourse a bit of both.

e.Another factor in all this is to what degree new non-repayable money is notably contained in productive, and/or non-productive assets, and to what extent it could enter the general circulation of the economy. Thus, an amount of excess capital can be safely created but is more likely to be saved, and this realization would be based on forecasts made on direct electronic data of "saving" accounts.

f.It should also be stated that TFE would have to accomodate for the possible "irrational behaviour" of certain "players" in the economy itself (ie Behaviorial Economics).

As can be see this whole subject can become complex.

The Importance of the Free Market Price

TFE is not to be confused with command/control economics as used notably in the old Soviet Union. We are ofcourse discussing a capitalist system in which most of the time the market price is set freely. To what extent this remains depends on the quality of the computer programming to ensure that only enough new non-repayable money is created responsibly. Thus, elasticity of supply, and demand will continue, and ensure efficiency in the market.

However, the prices of registered goods, and service will start to slowly rise mainly because taxation, and interest on credit (though taxation, and interest would be slowly phased out to zero at the transition phase to ensure everything goes smoothly)would no longer exist. In order to accomodate this the value of peoples money would also rise correspondingly via an instant electronic adjustment to inflation of the entire country.

If any problems do occur there is a number of temporary super-flexible electronic price/inflation controls which can electronically target monetary, or accounting transmissions (or alternatively ofcourse accounting data + monetary transmission = one transmission to the bank as money itself is essentially electronic data)of registered goods, and services. This is explained in brief in the following section of the p2p foundation entry on TFE.

Possible Electronic Controls Over Inflation if Necessary

The following gives us some insight as to how registered products, and/or services could be subjected to instant inflation controls if necessary. These measures are like price controls of the past but are far more advanced because

They are super-flexible.

They do not require a huge bureaucracy.

They can give instant compensation, and/or instant subsidization depending on the situation.

They can correct anything instantly if necessary, and thus any money lost as a result can be re-created by electronic means as money itself is essentially electronic data .

They could if necessary fine people, and companies directly, and electronically from their business bank accounts to ensure compliance to some aspect of inflation legislation.

Please note that what follows is still subject to further development, and more detailed treatment. This would require the help of relevant experts.

There are a number of inflation controls as described below:-

Selective Inflation Adjustment, and Instant Electronic Price Subsidization

This is when the inflated portion of a specific registered product, or service has been electronically targetted as being "over-inflated". It is subjected to an instantaneous, or late inflation check either at the point of sale, or at the bank. If whatever has been bought happens to be over-inflated to say 10% this amount is instantly created electronically into a subsidy which goes straight into the account of the customer. In other words, an "accounting" adjustment. Ofcourse, registered goods could also be instantly subsidized wherever, and whenever necessary at a touch of button.

National Inflation Adjustment

This has already been mentioned but not by name. Here, virtually all bank accounts are indexed-linked electronically to the changing value of money during inflation. Something like this already exists to a limited extent(ie index-linked products, or services).

In TFE new non-repayable money could be created electronically for the bank accounts of customers. This would give rise to more money in ones bank account. Hence, the new higher amount has been adjusted to take into account inflation, and thus, ones purchasing power remains largely the same as before. This is what Keynes referred to as the "money illusion."

Automatic Inflation Deduction

This is when the inflated portion of a registered product, or service is subject to an instant inflation check in which it is reduced to its real value relative to the entire economy of a nation. In other words, the "inflated portion" is destroyed. This can be seen by some as a "tax" but it is not because money in real terms (ie.its real value as opposed to its inflated value) retains its purchasing power as if nothing had happened to it at all.

Electronic Price Capping

Price capping usually comes in the form of Price Floors, and Price Ceilings. In mainstream Neo-Classical Economics they are not highly regarded as they have potential to distort the pricing system, and hence interfere with the free hand of the market.Furthermore, they should be used only as a last resort. TFE has a like view but because of the super-flexible nature of the inflation controls it is not seen as a major problem of note, and if electronic inflation management is undertaken properly it is unlikely to occur.

Bank intervention rather than government intervention in many cases could be involved if temporary Price Floors, and Price Ceilings are absolutely necessary for any part of the economy. This would come in the form of instant subsidies created electronically out of new non-repayable money by the bank (or government).

Price capping can lead to artifical shortages (ie Price Ceilings) and surpluses (ie.Price Floors), and the balance can be easily redressed with the right planned intervention, and financial incentives. This can involve price subsidies, and where necessary instant compensation for any business concerned (eg. if a control price goes below the level of profitability it can ofcourse be subsidized by new non-repayable capital from the bank so the commercial operation(s) involved does not go out of business).

In connection with the above one way to encourage registered prices of registered goods to fall is to create an instant profit subsidy electronically. Thus, a monetary incentive is created electronically to lower prices to a certain level, or levels. The lower the price greater the profit subsidy!! This can be done electronically ofcourse.

Apart from the Registered Economy of registered prices, and services discussed here there is also an Unregistered Economy. The latter only makes up a very small part of the entire economy. It consists of products, and services which are difficult to price exactly, and Code with electronic IDs necessary in the business accounting process. However, if inflation adversely affects them in any way they too could be subjected to temporary electronic price controls (with flexible price ranges), and become permanently, or temporarily part of the Registered Economy.

The benefits of a Non-Debt Based Economy compared with the Debt Based Economy of taxation, and interest on credit are a real marvel for businesses as the following points reveal because it is...

Free of taxes

Interest free loans would exist.

The possibility of electronically monitored commercial grants where necessary.

There are no "boom" and "bust" cycles but rather a continous process of growing prosperity. Thus, businesses benefit enormously in a Transfinancial Economy.

The Vital Importance of Sustainability

The world does not have infinite resources. As such it is vital to encourage businesses with the right incentives (notably created out of new non-repayable money)to introduce a variety of approaches which;-

reduce the amount of raw materials used in production of green products, and services.....

re-cycle envronmentally friendly goods where necessary in a closed loop......

re-use green products where suitable in certain ways...

..and/or re-design such goods where necessary whilst at the sametime ofcourse reducing the carbon footprint....

To a somewhat limited extent, all this is gradually being realized, and undertaken. Moreover, a number of businesses recognize the growing reality that green sustainable products, and services can be profitable with the right business model. Some, like a number of corporations are involved in "greenwash" in which the products, and services are not really as environmentally friendly as they appear.

In TFE there would have to be a huge push to try, and bring change into businesses into becoming green. This would involve bank intervention, and to a certain degree of government intervention. The former notably could along with credible information, and consultants be able to create a comprehensive array of incentive schemes backed up by new non-repayable money.Any loss of profits could be compensated if necessary. Indeed, if certain projects involving sustainability in whatever form were commercially unviable these could if there were a serious business plan be fully funded.

The banks (or governments) themselves could also be involved in a degree of demand management in which they could have powers to prevent the overuse of certain limited resources as registered products, and services are continually tracked electronically. Compensation maybe necessary for certain businesses if a loss of profits are involved.

From Competative Capitalism to more Advanced Socio-Economic Alternatives

It should be said that capitalists would make much profit in Transfinancial Economics especially in the first few decades of its full introduction. But, later on it would become increasingly difficult to find new business opportunities as they would be very thin on the ground (ie. resource scarcity). Thus, take-over bids may become increasingly common for existing commercial enterprises (but special NGOs, and possibly willing governments could buy up such assets as they would now have the financial clout).

At the same time there would probably be extensive education especially of the younger generation. This would notably come about via certain NGOs (better financed ofcourse in TFE)concerned with democracy, sustainability, localization, altruism, less "hierachical" social organization, fairer distribution of wealth, and non-competative/co-operative forms of "capitalism" and other socio-economic alternatives. If the pressure of this becomes great enough it may lead to turning the present "greedy" system into something far better, and more advanced in a more ethical sense.

The ultimate aim of TFE is to reach a stage of advanced automation in which money itself will become totally redundant. Ofcourse, work as we would understand it would be virtually non-existent, and superflous. It is expected by then that capitalism would also no longer be needed along with its elites ideally.

Instead, a more advanced hi-tech civilization will emerge in which people rather than money becomes genuinely important. All this would be the expected result of decades of "unprecedented" pressure, and education by the work of high ethical NGOs as already indicated.Yet, ironically, it would be through the "greed" of the capitalist system that the "highest" degree of automation, and green technology would have been put in place on a global scale. In other words, capitalism should be used to ultimately end capitalism. It is also worth mentioning here again the work of the Venus Project which presents a possible technocratic "utopia."

Interest-Free Monetary Reform

Radical monetary reformers tend to concentrate on banks, and the banking elite. These commercial enterprises electronically create most of the money of the world out of thin air as a repayable loan, or credit with interest ofcourse via a process known as fractional reserve banking, or credit creation as it is commonly referred to. The limits of this process are strictly speaking determined by existing amounts of money held in reserve.

Cash though produced by governments only makes up a near non-existant portion of the present financial system. The aim of the monetary reformers in question is to try to bring about interest-free loans which would be beneficial to society, and the economy. Obviously, this is unlikely to happen due to the power of the banks.

In TFE ofcourse banks (along with other "non-financial" companies)could continue to lend at interest but this would not be paid for by the customer but rather by an independent public body, or the Central Bank as mentioned earlier. The amount could still be adjusted to encourage competition.

It should be said that banks could create their own wages for their employees via the production of new non-repayable money. This though would be seen as fraud, and prosecution would result. It could also undermine confidence in TFE altogether.

The Central Bank, or an independent public body could also electronically track, and monitor a banks activity to avoid anything like this. They can legally pay banks on their behalf with money...which would ofcourse be created ex nihilo.

The Money Markets

They would benefit greatly with the introduction of TFE. It would mean greater predictable sustainable growth, and profitability in the equity, or shares market for investors, plus other monetary benefits in connection with various financial "products" or "instruments".

However, the bond market (the buying, and selling of debt from governments, and corporations) would be partly, or fully phased out gradually as TFE is introduced. This could be replaced by the increasing growth of new, and old financial "products." In other words, the rich, and super-rich could benefit more than before... not ofcourse at the expense of the poor as various socio-economic projects (especially where there is little, or no commercial viability)by governments, businesses, and/or NGOs would be set up in the Developed, and the Developing World on a large scale.

Some Other Implications of Transfinancial Economics

These can be briefly listed:-

Transnational Corporations especially in the Developing World could be transformed into truly ethical, and sustainable businesses with powerful financial incentives for change including profit subsidization on a massive scale.

Universal healthcare would be possible irrespective of whether private businesses are involved or not.

Generous pensions would be possible for an aged population without the need of income created by taxes, and/or by private long-term investments in the stock market. However, the latter could continue to a large, or larger extent if desired.

Grassroots NGOs concerned with poverty reduction in the Developed, and Developing World would be better financed as never before to bring about positive change (ie. a New Global Marshall Plan). Moreover, powerful financial incentives could be created for small and large companies (including corporations)from the Developed World to bring about serious economic growth in the Developing World. Money ofcourse would be supplied responsibly, and would avoid where possible the pockets of corrupt government officials, and their representatives.

NGOs concerned with fairer wealth distribution (or redistribution) such as Binary Economics, and Co-operatives and the like would be financed as never before to become a greater influence on society.

Small "zero growth" self-sufficient, and high-tech sustainable communities could be initially financed with non-repayable capital if the relevant but financially enhanced NGOs put pressure on banks, and governments.

Corporations concerned with oil production, and indeed, the arms trade could be bought up in stages by new non-repayable money via a friendly, or hostile takeover. At present democratic governments plus certain relevant NGOs seem powerless to do much about them but with TFE we have a very powerful solution. This concept is referred to as Ethical Business Conversion, or EBC.

A huge, and dangerous problem facing the world is ofcourse global warming. Capping emissions would certainly help but with EBC it would be possible at the sametime to gradually buy up polluting businesses, and replace them with low carbon, or rather decarbonised ones mass producing green sustainable goods, and services. This could come about by government intervention, and/or banks, under pressure from better financed NGOs.

Of course, there are other implications which we shall not go into here. At the same time, Positive Human Politics could be developed as a global paradigm which brings together as one the best, and most advanced democratic thinking into how a better, and more civilized world could be brought into existence. This subject is not discussed here.

Campaign Activism for Transfinancial Economics

In order to bring about the serious possibility of change from our present debt based economy of taxation, and interest to one which is not debt based a campaign would be necessary. However, a grassroots organization for the masses to challenge banks, and Corporations is unlikely to work though we may be wrong.

To promote this campaign it is suggested here that a professional website would be set up to spread the word of Transfinancial Economics as a serious, and credible proposal if the world is to successfully survive the global problems of the future. It would be sent to people, and organizations that have power, and influence such as government policy makers, academics, financial companies, et cetera. This is probably the way forward.

The TFE website itself would include the following features.

A news update about the campaign progress.

Commissioned papers (initially) by willing economists using econometric models to show the efficacy of TFE in technical terms, including detailed studies on Electronic Business Accounting, and the possible super-flexible Electronic Inflation Controls.

An online Journal of Transfinancial Economics.

A powerpoint presentation of TFE for downloading.

Any endorsements for TFE by any willing experts.

Possible field trials of the electronic technologies involved in TFE. This could be in part, or fully funded by governments, and/or by Corporations.

Some Similiar Notions to Transfinancial Economics

It is perhaps suprising to know that the basic idea of a tax, and interest free economy is not new. In America for example just before the War of Independence from Britain various states were extremely poor, but they hit upon the idea of creating their own money. This in certain cases replaced taxation as we would understand it. In some states though they produced too much of it, and caused "serious" inflation whilst others produced enough of it, and thus served the public good without any economic problems.

Of course, present day LETS or the Local Exchange Trading Schemes, and other similiar complimentary currencies (CCs)are strictly speaking free of tax, and interest. Silvio Gesell, and his experiment with his Free Money, or "stamp scrip" also comes to mind.Yet,such CCs are limited when compared with TFE ofcourse as they simply involve local communities accepting a made up currency as a means of exchange for a very "limited" number of goods, and services.

Abba Lerners Functional Finance seems to indicate in part that taxation is unnecessary except when serious inflation occurs. In other words, it is a way of reducing the money supply to "sensible" levels. He appears to have drawn his inspiration from the economist G.F. Knapp who recommended the concept of Chartalism which he devised.

TFE is often misleadingly associated with Social Credit founded by Clifford Douglas. This essentially believed in the idea of the National Dividend which is also very much like the Universal Basic Income, or UBI. It appears that this could be created by what Douglas referred to as debt-free money, or in TFE as new non-repayable money. This would be based directly on certain economic data, and enough of this debt free capital could be produced so as to not lead to serious inflation. Apparently, like TFE Social Credit believes that overtime taxation could also be phased out altogether.

PS A paper on TFE was actually accepted by a peer reviewed journal. However, due to a dispute with the editor/publisher I withdrew it from publication, and at the time of writing (April 2008) a new version has been sent elsewhere.

Radhasoami, and Faqir Chand.

Posted on Nov 26th, 2009 by Bob

Just after Maharaj Charan Singh  former head of Radha Soami Satsang Beas died in 1990 a book appeared on him, and his discourses entitled Treasure Beyond Measure. In it he discussed his own experiences about the utter suprise that he was appointed Sant Satguru in 1951 by the previous deceased incumber Maharaj Jagat Singh Ji. Indeed, he even tried to end his life to avoid having to become a Living God if one recalls correctly! He regarded the whole matter as a cruel trick of fate. To a Satsangi, or devotee this shows his utter humility! He was pretending that he was not a real Master!!

However, what perhaps was Maharaj Charan Singh really saying without giving the game away? He was arguably indicating to those "in the know" that he was telling the truth pure, and simple as far as he could understand it at the time.

To understand what follows it isbest to examine a mystic called Faqir Chand. He, like Maharaj Charan Singh was regarded as a much respected teacher of shabd yoga. But Chand claimed that though he was regarded as the physical manifestation of God he was not omniscient. He did not know anything about the miracles that his devotees expressed to him in which his Radiant Form would appear in the outer, or inner worlds of matter, or spirit. He found this same unawareness with other masters of the shabd yoga tradition, and this is borne out by evidence. He concluded that it was the BELIEF AND FAITH of the devotees which generated the phenomena of inner visions, and miracles due to their devotional love for him. However, this did not imply necessarily that they were merely hallucinations but in many perhaps most cases that it was their Higher Self which appeared in a Radiant Form that looked like him! In certain types of Buddhism this is known as the Dharma Body.

Thus, Maharaj Charan Singh may be indicating the "truth" indirectly of the above phenomenon. His successor Maharaj Gurinder Singh though has on possibly on one or more occassion indicated in his Satsang that  he (using the "I" in context to his discourse) is aware of his devotees wherever they are! If correct, he has tried to suggest indirectly that he is omniscient which runs counter to the claims of Faqir Chand.

Yet, in a letter to a devotee I used to know he claimed that she could continue with her Bhajan (attempts at trying to listen to the Sound Current in this context) but admitted that she did not even do it! This she found puzzling! There may well be some other similiar evidence...This would be no surprise.

A rather odd thing occured in connection with myself. This is not a meditation experience per se but happened quite naturally, and spontaneously as I was walking. An image of Gurinder Singh appeared in the area of my Third Eye in "circle" shape. He was dressed with his turban, and a white suit....the one which I wore at initiation back in 1993! The image changed but with the same suit. Perhaps this "mind trick" was suggesting in a crude manner that the Master was myself which is rediculous! However, my present Lower Self entangled in mind, and matter is ofcourse NOT the same as my pure Higher Self which is what Chand was really on about. But it was an odd "mind trick".

However, I do believe rightly, or wrongly that  "God-Realised" Masters exist who are to a high degree "omniscient". Yet, most are probably not. Moreover, I suspect that if Gurinder,(or should I say Babaji?) and those like him are indeed such it may well be that this process of unfoldment developed either before, or after their mastership. This is a big subject, and appears to have something to do with the mechanics of conciousness.

Recalling John Garland.........

Posted on Nov 26th, 2009 by Bob
In the late 1970s I recall meeting John Garland, the noted astrologer. He used to work for a time as a teacher at the Tutorials a private school at Windsor where I used to go to. It was run by Mr. Blundell (a rather Dickensian sounding name in my humble opinion).

Anyway, John Garland  was a charming fellow with a boyish visage, and ruddy complexion. If I recall correctly he had ginger, or blond hair. It is nice now to see him doing so well with his work in astrology as the following biodata reveals from Astrology Enterprises found on the net along with other  "psychics", and astrologers.

.."One of Britain's most respected and well established astrologers, John Garland's work has featured in the most diverse range of media over a highly successful, 24 year long career. John also has a unique distinction amongst other astrologers - in terms of understanding the needs of the media, for he worked as a journalist, leader writer and an editor, before the clarion call of astrology become too strong and led to his full-time profession. John writes traditional Western astrology but also has an avid interest and deep knowledge of Chinese astrology, a specialisation, and he has written extensively for Horoscope and Prediction Magazines'.

In fact John was the first astrologer to introduce Chinese astrology to the west in the 1980's - strongly influenced by his Grandfather, who lived in China for many years, and who was imbued in Daoism and a great admirer of Confucius. From this John acquired a considerable knowledge of Chinese spiritual culture, including the "I Ching".

Over his career, John has written for many of the most established Women's titles, has had much work published and his specialisation is in providing sparkling, either bespoke or regular content, with an almost lyrical and enchanting dimension. His is a rare voice of true authority in the astral and divination firmament."

In around 1983 I came across him again. He used to live in Upton Park, Slough in a basement flat. I got to know him pretty well as he had an easy charm about him. Often, or not the subjects we discussed were to do with psychic, and spiritual topics notably my growing fascination in gurus. He, himself seemed at the time to be much taken by the Western pagan tradition notably the celts, and their culture. Indeed, he even produced his own magazine aptly entitled CELT in capitals. I wrote an article on the mysticism of Inner Sound for his second, or third issue. This appeared on the front cover along with the drawing of a weeping willow if I recall correctly. He described my writing as being "scholarly" which | took to be a compliment.

Anyway,John Garland was among other things an artist. He showed me a number of his unusual "psychic" paintings. Indeed, I even saw per chance an exhibition of them at some fair in London. This was after I lost contact with him, and I was suprised to see him once more.

He apparently claimed to have written, and published a book entitled the Mire. Brian Edgar who was one of my teachers at the Tutorials contacted me after 30 years via the "miracle" of the internet, and . I was amazed to receive his email. He claimed that he had seen the Mire but unfortunately he was not taken by it.

I later read about John Garland claiming in the local rag to have had some kind of  "premonition" about the Hungerford Massacre (1987). The next time I came to know of him, and his work was again in printed form. It was in the Maidenhead local paper in which he appears to have a syndicated column on his his artful, and insightful column on astrology! It is good to see that he has been doing well, and I wish him future good luck! Maybe we will meet again..or maybe not.... but ofcourse thats all in the stars!

Mystery "Kabbalistic" Symbol?

Posted on Nov 26th, 2009 by Bob

I would be grateful to know whether anyone knows the possible meaning of this Kabbalistic symbol. It is drawn on a public wall with a black  felt tip pen by a person, or persons unknown as I enter, and depart from a block of flats in which I live. Essentially, it appears as a trident (bowled shaped like the Jewish Menorah)without the pronged endings. Two magan davids are to be seen both sides of it save the central "column" so to speak. At the bottom of the latter there is one more magan david. There also appears here to be a little "flame" on one of the apexes of the two triangles. The same is true of the one on the top left of the "trident". These may have no significance at all along with where they are placed exactly.

The question is this? Is this a genuine Kabbalistic symbol possibly? Or is it just something made up by someone who has an interest in magic? Could ot be a symbol of good luck, or bad luck, or indeed, nothing at all of note??

I may sometime post a drawing, or photo of it but the detail in the first paragraph should be clear enough to its possible "identification," and "significance".

Meeting Dr. Douglas Baker....

Posted on Oct 7th, 2009 by Bob

Dr. Douglas Baker is somewhat well-known in esoteric circles. Here is a link to him, and his site.

                     http://www.douglasbaker.com/

It is claimed that he has written over 100 books on esoteric subjects. Having seen some of them they appear I am afraid to be often, or not short, and shallow. Moreover, from what I have found so far at least that there is no obvious reference to his wholesale use of Theosophy, and the Alice Bailey Teachings. He should by rights give direct indications of his source materials otherwise it gives the false impression that he is an innovator.

Anyway, back in the early eighties I used to meet a  plump well-dressed Indian astrologer who was called Matthew. He claimed that he was jeweller, and emanated from Brighton. On occassion, I met him at a hotel that used to exist opposite Slough train station. We often talked about esoteric subjects, and once I said that I believed I had been killed in the last world war. In response, he said that he had been a saint in India in another incarnation!

For whatever reasons, Matthew seemed impressed by the writings of Dr. Douglas Baker. He recommended them to me but I was not overly impressed. However, I did go to see Baker at the former workings mens club in Slough where he was giving a talk on astral projection. Among other things, he mentioned his friend Peter Sellars, and his heart attack in which he had out-of-body experience (though if I recall correctly there was more than one instance of this).

At the end of this ofcourse came the book signing session. I used this as an opportunity to ask him why he had no replied to me on a letter concerning greater information on surat shabd yoga, and the Radhaswami Faith. At this, he said nothing, and gave me a sssh! with one finger over his mouth. He seem to realize the huge esoteric importance of the subject, and clearly was not willing to discuss it.! However, apart from this I was not impressed overall by him as a person, or indeed, his books!!

I am sure Dr. Baker means well in his own right along with his Claregate College on esoteric studies but I just feel that perhaps the genuine motivations for it all were somehow lacking. However, whether true, or not he has played an important in popularising the subject for which we should be thankful.

Who are the Eloists?

Posted on Sep 28th, 2009 by Bob

Sometime ago I had a black and white dream. I could only the recall the fag end of it. It was like an old grainy film being played in which someone looking like some Old Testament Prophet strolling along towards me with a staff in a stony scenery. All of a sudden the words ELOIST appeared.  I had never come across the word before, and so I had to go to the internet  to find out what it meant. The following comes from the GG  dictionary.....

E*lo"hist (?), n. The writer, or one of the writers, of the passages of the Old Testament, notably those of the Pentateuch, which are characterized by the use of Elohim instead of Jehovah, as the name of the Supreme Being; -- distinguished from Jehovist. S. Davidson.

- Webster's Unabridged Dictionary (1913)

Elohist, a name given by the critics to the presumed author of the earlier part of the Pentateuch, whose work in it they allege is distinguished by the use of the word Elohim for God; he is to be distinguished from the Jehovist, the presumed author of the later portions, from his use, on the other hand, of the word Jehovah for God.

More light was forthcoming in the following "revelation" if such it could be called......Here, reference is made to a publication entitled Radiance which is connected with Oahspe an esoteric society which has been around for sometime...

Within Radiance flows the spirit of the Eloists. It is an expression of Light, and speaks with the Voice of the Living Spirit as It has come to be known through the Eloist family. 'Eloist' means a 'doer of the Creator's will.' The objective of Radiance is not so much to educate as it is to strike a keynote or set a tone that will help the reader to become attuned to 'the realm of thought in which angels dwell,' and in that harmony to learn how to rise in spirit to embrace a higher purpose.

Radiance, a publication of The Eloists, a religious non-profit organization, incorporated in 1918.....

Multi-Dimensional Science

From P2P Foundation

Jump to: navigation, search

Project page by Robert Searle.

Basic Introduction to Multi-Dimensional Science

Multi-Dimensional Science, or MDS represents a revolutionary approach towards a more objective understanding of claimed psychic, and spiritual phenomena. The ideas notably appeared on the kheper website run by Alan Kazlev, an authority on all things "esoteric". The link is as follows.

[1]

The "Science" word in MDS is ofcourse used in an entirely provisional sense. The subject can thus be also known as the Multi-Dimensional Hypothesis,or MDH. This is arguably a more accurate term. At present, it is purely at the "pseudo-scientific" stage of development.

The words "Multi-Dimensional" have been criticized but in this context it clearly implies claimed psychic, and spiritual dimensions, or worlds variously called spheres, planes of existence, higher realms, et al. They could be seen as being akin to a certain extent with "scientific" concepts of anti-matter worlds, parallel universes, and ofcourse the fourth(or the fifth, sixth, or more) dimension(s).

Important to Understand, and Appreciate.

Most of all that follows is highly speculative, and theoretical. Unfortunately, this is unavoidable due the nature of the subject in hand. Understandably, many mainstream scientists would regard MDS as nonsense, and too New Agey to have any credence. A few may be able to take it more seriously. Many of the things said here may come across a little dogmatic but this is not intentional. But, it is not always easy to describe "concepts" such as these in neutral terms.

Anyhow, let us try if possible to proceed with an open-mind.

The Aim of the Multi-Dimensional Paradigm.

The basic aim of Multi-Dimensional Science, or MDS is to prove albeit indirectly the existence of so-called non-physical psychic/spiritual energies, and the claimed realities in which they are said to exist. If possible, and if it can be done within the context of a new version of the scientific method it would have untold benefits for physics, biology, psychology, psychiatry, parapsychology,et al. This in itself is a huge subject...infinite like the universe, and with infinite implications for humanity.

Most of what follows is essentially theoretical as already indicated, and would require in the goodness of time to be "proved" as far as possible via research, and experimentation.

The Basic Methodology of MDS

There are five methodological steps in the process of "objectifying" the claimed "subjective" encounters of the unseen psycho-spiritual universe. Since what we are discussing are claimed to be non-physical energies it should be obvious that we cannot use normal "scientific" protocol as they are physically undetectable in the main unless they temporarily "materialize" within the electro-magnetic spectrum of the physical universe.

Anyway, the methods of research, and ultimately experiment are as follows.

i) Finding MDOs, or Multi-Dimensional Observers would be necessary, and a special directory could be created. These are specific psychics, and mystics who claim to have inner experiences of a range of non-physical phenomena notably the manifestations of claimed ethereal sounds, and lights. They may among other things be able to view the so-called subtle body, auras, discarnate entities, symbolic imagery, et cetera. Such data would in Western Philosophy be regarded as a form of phenomenology a concept coined by Edmund Husserl.

ii) A simple questionaire would probably be used first to ask MDOs what they experience. A detailed one would follow. The aim of this is to see how many obscure pieces of data are independently corroborated beyond the laws of mathematical chance. In other words, we have as it were "objective" non-physical phenomena which are not the product of subjective imagination of the MDO.

iii) Such attempted descriptions of "higher worlds", and their "higher energies" are translated from words into images. This could be put onto a computer.

iv) Mathematical models, and theories could then be created.

v) On the basis of step iv experiments could be undertaken to see how reliable, and objective the initial data really is. If all things go to plan we would have an approach in which we could understand on a more scientific basis the actual workings of psycho-spiritual energies in both man, and the universe. This would be a huge step forward, and would have profound implications for the arts, and most notable of all the sciences themselves.

Multi-Dimensional Science represents the Complete System.

The idea of trying to marry science with esoteric mysticism, and religion is nothing new. But what is so unique with MDS is that we for the first time the Complete System to achieve it.

The idea of using mathematics to describe "higher worlds" is nothing new (eg. Jewish Mysticism). The notion of trying to turn unseen realities, and energies into pictures is again nothing new (eg. Charles Leadbeater, and his famous images of the subtle bodies, and their auras). Similiarly, questionaires have been used to find out what people encounter during out-of-body experiences, or OOBEs, and so-called religious (or rather mystical) experiences have been undertaken by a number of individuals, and organizations (eg. the Sir Alistair Hardy Centre, and the Kundalini Research Institute). Also, the use of psychics to try, and discover "secret knowledge"(eg. Besant, and Leadbeater in their clairvoyant reseaches into chemistry)and so-called "occult powers" is nothing new (eg. Reichenbach, and the Odic Force).

What MDS ofcourse tries to do is to bring together these four key approaches into one complete system. Professor Tarts State-Specific Science,or S-SS comes close to it, but does not go far enough, and is hence, incomplete.

Describing the "Indescribable"?

Many psychics, and mystics have at times found it difficult to put into words their inner experiences of "higher worlds". Quite often they may resort to using symbolism of one form, or another. To what extent, and in what way this would be is shown is revealed by the questionaires. This could cause some degree of complication from a scientific perspective.

Much relies on the literal, and symbolic descriptive powers of the MDOs concerned though inevitably there will be "things" which can never be described at all. These would be indicated via the questionaires ofcourse, and ultimately via the mathematical models.

Interfacing with the Physical,and Non-Physical

If MDOs can collectively produce reliable data about the energies in, or around physical objects, and people it would be possible to measure them scientifically using physical instruments. For example, a microscope could be used to examine in detail certain materials, and tested (ie "reliable")MDOs one after another, and in theory should be able to come up with the same data concerning their non-physical psychic structure, and eneriges.

In another example, person A may be able to produce claimed psychic rays from his, or her body. This could be accurately measured using some kind of physical instrument(s) with the help of what MDOs see, and may hear psychically in non-physical dimensions.

A similiar process to above could be had in which physical objects, and people do not exist. In other words, research, and experimentation in the "other world".Thus, wholly non-physical "measurements" and other "quantifiable" findings could be recorded.

Another problem which would probably be met with is this. Groups of MDOs may describe the same things differentively irrespective of whether they are physical, or not. This suggests that they may see things at different levels of conciousness in different planes/sub-planes. Hence, the variations.

What we are also indicating here is that the science of the future will become increasingly more humanized, and less objective in the normal scientific sense. By "humanized" we are implying ofcourse that tested MDOs, or "special" people would become more, and more a part of the experimental process gradually unlocking the secrets of the physical, and non-physical universe. Again, it should be re-iterated that MDS offers for the first time the Complete System to achieve this.

A Note. It should perhaps be added that there is belief largely founded, or unfounded that these subtle psychic energies may also exist as a) the finest form of energy existing to a certain extent in the physical universe either temporarily, or permanently, and b) that they could be detectable to some degree with certain kinds of physical isntruments. This in itself is a big subject, and one is reminded her of the work of the physicist William Tiller, and the independent research Harry Oldfied, and the controversial claims of Kirlian Photography being interpreted as being a form of "bio-energy" et cetera.

However, it should be noted that MDS tends in the main to go beyond this "limited" approach because it believes that it may be dealing with higher non-physical energies (ie undetectable altogether by normal means), and hence, this knowledge would arguably have greater psychic, and spiritual benefits than dealing with low level energies that may be detectable in the material world.

Basic Theoretical Concepts of Higher Worlds, and Higher Energies

Many mystical, and psychic writings claim that there are a series of higher worlds, and hence, higher energies in the non-physical Universe. Such psychic/spiritual cosmologies have often been illustrated as a set of seven or more lines either in concentric, or linear forms. They are on occassions sub-divided into smaller worlds, or sub-planes (of a plane). On occasion they are shown concentrically around our planet earth, and extent ultimately into infinity.

There are a number of hermetic/alchemical texts which notably illustrate higher planes of existence as being concentric. Certain Buddhist depictions of the "after-life" realms indicate a linear, or concentric set of worlds, or planes.

In the Alice Bailey Teachings there is a scheme of spiritual cosmology in which there is in each plane a division of seven sub-planes.The reality of the situation is probably that there are an infinite number of planes, and sub-planes, and their number tends to vary from one esoteric, and/or mythological source to another

It is said that as one ascends from one higher reality to another it becomes increasingly brighter, and there is growing expansion of super-conciousness, or mystical experience. Moreover, the energies of each succeeding plane, and indeed, each sub-plane become increasingly subtle. The content of such visionary ascents can as one progresses "upwards" become more difficult, or impossible at times to describe in the language of this world.

In relation to our physical world of the five limited senses, such realms could arguably exist as energies having a vibratory rate faster than the speed of light. Thus, ofcourse, they would transcend time, and space as we would understand it. Moreover, it is also believed that they may exist, and interact in other ways conceivable, and inconceivable in relation to our visible world.

The "Highest Truth", and "Objectivity"?

One advanced understanding of these other planes,or dimensions of Being are to be found in Sant Mat as propounded notably by the Radhasoami Faith. It claims among other things that most religions, and mystical sects reach only the lower worlds mistaking them to be the highest where true "God-Realization" or "salvation" occurs from reincarnation (if one believes it, or not). Through meditation known as Surat Shabd Yoga the aspirant can "die while living" and gain contact to the higher worlds via the manifestation of inner Light, and inner Sound. At the same time, the Radiant Form of the living Master acts as the inner Guide.

The point of all this is that the spiritual cosmology as revealed in Sant Mat (notably in the writings of Prof Puri published by Radha Soami Satsang Beas) give not only the claimed major Sounds, and Lights of each of the higher worlds, or planes but also their key "symbolic" sights. Thus, we have in effect an actual "road-map" to "salvation",or "God-Realization".

However, as with most forms of mysticism wether they be of Hindu, Buddhist, Sufi, or whatever origin knowledge concerning the inner experiences of ones meditation are kept private as they are not of this world, and cannot at times be accurately described. In other words, they are for the awakening intuition, and not for the limited mind.

In spite of this from the MDS percepective they would still have some scientific value if the practioner is willing to disclose his, or her inner experiences for comparative analysis via questionaires. It is known however that the initial experiences of Shabd Yoga compared with "lesser" systems are independently corroborative, and hence, indicate their "objective" character.

To complicate matters further, there are those mystics from both East, and West who would perhaps argue that there are no set sequences of lights, and Sounds, or in indeed, key sights on the way "up" to the "highest" plane. These may even be regarded as being largely, or wholly the projections of the mind! Whether this is true, or false is essentially an open question which will probably never be solved by natural means, or ofcourse by MDS itself. It is likely that the "other world" exists in an infinite number of ways conceivable, and largely, or wholly inconceivable.

More importantly, mysticism both East, and West would probably argue that direct personal experience proves that higher worlds exist(irrespective of whether they have a set "road-map" to "God", or not) via some form of meditation and is thus far more important than the kind of possible studies, and experiments of MDS. This is probably true but peoples minds are becoming increasingly complicated, and they are not so easily satisfied by such a "simplistic" approach. Thus, MDS has it own role to play in the scheme of things. But it can never really substitute direct inner experience.

Subtle Bodies, or Vehicles of Conciousness

A key feature in occult, or esoteric lore is the concept of subtle bodies (which also appears in the Radhasoami Faith). Here we need to imagine the possibility of the human being consisting of a set of subtle bodies simultaneously existing in a number of planes of existence but "working" all together to a certain extent as if they were one.

It should also be said here that these forms have special centres, or what in the East are referred to as chakras which can be translated as "wheels" which are to a degree replicated in the higher bodies. These involve the transmissions of psychological energies in the literal sense existing in the subconcious, and unconcious parts of the human psyche. They manifest as inner subtle lights, and sounds, and have direct connections to various planes, and sub-planes.

Anyway, to return to the subtle bodies per se. The first of them traditionally is the etheric (or "health")body existing in the etheric world. Then there is the so-called astral, or emotional body inhabiting the plane of emotions. Next the mental body which inhabits the mental plane. Then, the the higher mental body which ofcourse exists in the higher mental plane. Finally, there is the Soul "Body" which is who, or what we really are but is largely controlled by the lower emotional, and mental body.

Meditation, and the Chandian Effect.

Meditation of one sort, or another, and pure living is the means by which people can let the Light of the Soul shine through them more, and more, and gain greater mastery over the lower forces of the human being. The Soul is said to be a part of God, or the Absolute Reality, and is sometimes referred to as our God-Self or Higher Self which can manifest Itself independently of the lower self, and can act as a Spiritual Guide, or manifest It-Self as the Ishta Dev (or Chosen Ideal such as Buddha, Christ, or some Guru etc) in the inner journey during meditation, or after death. This sometimes referred to Atma-Lila, or the Play of Self.

A respected mystic of Shabd Yoga called Faqir Chand claimed that though he was meant to be the physical "omniscient" manifestation of God he was unaware of his disciples experiences concerning their contact notably of his Radiant Form during meditation, or in some "outer" miraculous happening. In Sant Mat this would have arguably implied that he was an "imperfect" master but he found that others like himself were also unware of their disciples inner experiences. He came to conclusion that it was the FAITH, AND BELIEF of the followers in him which caused the inner, and outer phenomena connected with him.

Essentially,Chand claimed that the inner Radiant Form was actually the manifestation of the disciples Higher Self taking on the appearance of thei Master (ie. Chand as the Ishta Dev, or Chosen Ideal). The implications of this are remakable because it also implies that a "criminal" teacher, or guru could also do the same thing. Yet, the disciple would still benefit spiritually......

All this seems to indicate that powerful "subjective" dynamics are involved which are to varying degree projected (from a lower, or higher part of ones self, or selves, or indeed, ones Higher Self in the case of the so-called Chandian Effect described)into an "objective" psycho-spiritual universe. This is notably true in spiritualist literature in which the "dead" conciously, or unconciously create their surrounding world to some extent with their "thought-energy." This factor has always to be taken into account into the "objective" investigations into psychic, and spiritual phenomomena using MDOs.

The Association for Multi-Dimensional Science.

MDS is not just concerned about mysticism but also parapsychology, or psychical research as it used to be commonly called. It may be that with the aid of MDOs we would be able to understand, and even improve the development of a whole range of alleged psychic powers such as telepathy, psychokinesis, astral travel, precognition, clairvoyance, et al. Such "pseudo-scientific" subjects are slowly becoming to be taken more seriously through the long march of human intellectual, and scientific evolution.

However, mysticism per se sees these so-called powers, or siddhis (to use the Sanskrit term) as largely being unimportant, and possibly a obstacle from the direct path of "God-Realization", or "salvation".

Anyway, what is needed in the future is an Association for Multi-Dimensional Science,or AMS as explained in the kheper essay (edited version) on the subject..

"...It would have the following basic aims:-

It would continue to search out willing MDOs for possible studies, and experiments (mainly drawn probably from the psychic healing groups).

It would try to build an ever-expanding directory of Buddhist, Hindu, Sikh, Judaic, Shinto, Sufi, and other mystical sects. This in itself would require detective work as most of them do not advertize themselves. This would involve i) contacing scholars, and writers ii) the internet iii) interfaith organisations iv) charity registers v) esoteric magazines vi) existing directories....and so on.

The need for on-going research, and development into a general theory, or working hypothesis of the Unseen Universe. This would involve ideas from Theosophy, the Alice Bailey Teachings, Spiritualism, Maharishis Vedic Science, and Technology, Pearsons Survival Physics, Bohms Implicate Order, and the like.

As well as this concepts from "mainstream" science would have to be included such as Quantum Mechanics (often used by some scientists, and others as adding credence to the possibility of psychic powers), the Multi-verse, the Fourth Dimension, Tachyons, et al.

Finally, it must be remembered that the proposed Multi-Dimensional Science probably cannot give totally "provable" answers as to what the ultimate nature and purpose of Truth is really all about. It is quite possible that there are no absolute truths, and that the universe is itself infinite. Science can only go so far, and at the end of the day it is arguably our own personal experience that really matters.

Finally, MDS is a huge subject, and what has been presented cannot do it true justice. There are many many aspects to it...."

Feeback is always welcome.

Robert Searle email dharao4@yahoo.co.uk .....incidently, the word dharao is a corruption of the Sanskrit term dhara meaning spiritual current in this context.

Further editing maybe needed.

Transfinancial Economics

From P2P Foundation

Jump to: navigation, search

Transfinancial Economics,or TFE is a concept for economic and financial reform developed by Robert Searle.

An Introductory Note.

At the time of writing this entry (January 2009)the existing kheper essay, or "paper" on TFE has not been updated as yet. This may change soon. It should also be said that it gives a somewhat "crude" understanding of the electronic inflation controls in comparison to what is presented here. TFE is also nearing basic completion, and new ideas may be added to it.

[1]

TFE should be treated as an invention rather than a political football. Updates concerning research progress can on occassion be found at the global justice movement.net discussion group.

[2]

TFE in a Nutshell

Transfinancial Economics or TFE believes that taxes, and interest on loans are no longer necessary in the 21st century. It realizes too that money itself is essentially electronic information transmitted from one bank account to another. This means that with the right programming it could be directly controlled in special ways. In the future it would be possible to have these transactions largely identified by special ID Codes.

They would notably apply to most retail goods, and services in the entire economy. This would mean that prices could be instantly checked at transaction, and transmitted via modified barcodes to the banks computers which would undertake instant inflation checks. With a largely accurate, and more scientific comprehension of the "content," volume, and velocity of transactions of the entire economy it would be possible with special computer programming to know how much new non-repayable money (along with existing earned money)could be created, and transmitted at zero, low, or high inflation risk.

At present, the above could only be achieved to some extent with little, or no serious inflation via "indirect" Economic Indicators. In TFE though we can produce a far more accurate macroeconomic account(so to speak) of the electronic workings of the economy so that new non-repayable money can be created, and transmitted successfully. This would ofcourse replace taxation, and many kinds of grants, and some of it could be used as interest free loans.

However, just in case things were to go awry, there are a whole array of direct electronic inflation controls which are far more flexible, and advanced than price controls of the past. All this is revolutionary because it would mean essentially that:-

a)New non-repayable money (largely monitored or otherwise, and possibly paid in instalments electonically)would be able to successfully increase productivity, and prosperity more quickly for businesses in a continous fashion. As such economic growth within a sustainable context would be able in the main to deal with the possible increase of consumer demand.

b)Special financial incentives where necessary would ensure that businesses become genuinely sustainable, and environmentally friendly. Those projects which are commerciallly unviable but vital to the world would receive the necessary subsidies, grants, and interest free loans created ofcourse out of new non-repayable money.

c)Charities, or NGOs concerned notably with high ethical issues,(eg. transparency in government, and business, human rights abuses, direct democracy, fairer wealth distribution, etc) and humanitarianism (eg.food relief, AIDs research, heart disease, etc) would probably be fully funded without need for fundraising

What follows is a more detailed enlargement of what has been stated here along with other relevant information.

[edit]

Tax Free, and Interest Free Monetary Reform

This is a brief "non-technical" introduction to a "new" futuristic monetary reform. It is called Transfinancial Economics or TFE, sometimes called Non-Taxation Monetary Reform.

It revolves around the concept that apart from earned money new non-repayable (ie.unearned) capital can be responsibly created, and transmitted (ie money is electronic in the main, and is sent electronically from one account to another) without taxation for democratic governments, and indeed, to a large extent fundraising by charitable non-profit NGOs. This is a "revolution" in our understanding of money and the world. In the right hands, this concept could be one of the greatest breakthroughs of the 21st century and beyond.

However, there is arguably more than enough earned money to change the world. Ofcourse, it would be highly ethical for it to be more fairly distributed, or rather redistributed as understood in a genuine socialist system. Yet, most of us realize this is unlikely to occur in the immediate future..if at all.

As such TFE recognizes this, and believes that the best way forward is the responsible creation, and tranmission to governments, and NGOs of new non-repayable money circulated along with its earned counterpart. This could be undertaken by an independent authority, and/or banks irrespective of whether they are private, or part nationalized, or indeed, fully nationalized. It is realized that greater financial empowerment lies with legal access to it when, and wherever there is a true need for it. The only other limits to success in such matters is effective planning, and relevant resources.

In normal circumstances, the creation, and transmission of new non-repayable money could lead in time to hyperinflation. Yet, this is unlikely in the light of "new" understanding which will be explained later. All the same though advanced computer technology and programming could be developed, and then used to deal with this instantly, effectively, and directly.

Important to Grasp

Before procceeding further it is vital to comprehend the following. There is no uncontrolled creation of new money unlike the cases of the Weimar Republic, the French Revolution, the Russion Revolution, the American War of Independence, et al. Rather it is notably targetted at productive social, economic, and political projects, and does not enter quickly into general circulation. This last point appears to be what happened in the past ultimately leading to devaluation of currency (ie. hyperinflation).

Thus, there would notably be a gradual rather than a rapid rise in consumer demand which would largely be met by businesses who would expand fairly quickly because they would have the extra money, and indeed, the help if necessary(ie. interest loans, subsidies, plus commercial grants created out of carefully targetted new non-repayable capital)to cater for it. As such natural shortages of products, and services would probably not feature.

Indeed, in TFE we would have a more accurate, and more scientific understanding of the entire economy as money is mainly electronic data being transmitted from one bank account to another. As such it would be possible with the right programming(tracking, and identification of most transactions electronically on a banks computer) to get highly accurate data about how much of an inflation risk the creation of new, and non-repayable money could be.In other words, enough could be created, and transmitted with little, or no fear of genuine economic "damage." This more scientific approach would be much more advanced, and accurate than the usage of present day Economic Indicators, and would have direct electronic data on how quickly certain businesses could meet demand with increased capacity.

It is also important to understand that there is a huge amount of "non-repayable" money in the existing economy. For example....

A. Loans are created electronically out of thin air by banks. In other words, new money for the time being. Yet, loans are repayable via the slow paying back of the new unearned capital with its earned equavalent. This can be seen too as a means of reducing inflation levels as it is new extra capital into the economy.

B. Governments give huge/small grants of non-repayable money to their various departments, and projects. Yet, in this case this is ofcourse earned money created via taxes.

C. NGOs receive, and give a large number of grants which again are non-repayable monies. But like taxes it comes from an earned source.

In the light of all this it is wonder that hyperinflation has not occured especially so when we realize that fantastical amounts are created by various types of "unproductive" financial "betting" known as derivatives!!(notably currency speculation). Yet, these are largely contained in the electronic virtual economy rather than in the real economy.

It is thus becomes clear that a certain amount of non-repayable money as grants if targetted at existing assets do not lead to serious inflation. The huge bank bailouts are an example. This like the loans ofcourse mentioned earlier are created out of new money but through a process of time are paid back by the taxpayer. This is absurd because if they do not cause serious inflation in the first place then why pay this unearned money via earned money from the people?

The above claims was something which was realized to a certain extent Clifford Douglas whou founded Social Credit. But in TFE there are also powerful super-flexible direct electronic controls in dealing with any possibilities of serious inflation and even hyperinflation rather than interest rates, and taxes. Furthermore ofcourse it should be repeated that with specially programmed, and advanced computer technology it would probably be possible to create enough money without serious inflation.

Basic Ethical Arguments for the Creation of New Money.

There are a number of key points which make the concept of new non-repayable money acceptable along with its earned counterpart.

i) All money originates from an unearned source of creation. As such from an objective viewpoint it has equal value to its earned counterpart as it would be legal tender.

ii) So-called Free Money already exists to a limited extent (eg government grants, donations, wills leaving money).

iii) Critics would like to point out that if new non-repayable money could be created, and transmitted without uncontrolled inflation it would mean that earning it in the first place would no longer be necessary. This ofcourse would lead to the collapse of the economy, and social chaos.

TFE though sees itself as a transitional, or evolutionary process in which we should have the mental maturity to realize that earning money is still essential until the time comes when "full"automation exists, and society becomed "jobless" in a traditional economic sense. It is then that new non-repayable money could play a vital role by helping to bring into existence "leisure-like employments" which would be possible either in a profit, or/and non-profit context. Ultimately, in some future time money itself would be abolished altogether. In other word,a hi-tech gifting economy similiar to proposals as the Venus Project developed by Jacque Fresco who notably draws his direct inspiration from Technocracy.

iv) Some critics would say that new non-repayable money is Funny Money. Yet, they fail to realize the fact that it already exists as most of the banks create it out of thin air as a loan which is repayable...

v) TFE should be seen as a kind of ethical economics because it sees money as having a High Human Value other than just a medium of exchange because its social, economic, and political implications are huge, and all-encompassing.

Important Moral Arguments for Non-Taxation.

There are a number of key arguments for the abolition of direct, and indirect taxation. They are;-

i)Tax raising is absurd especially as it is very possible for new non-repayable money to be created, and transmitted safely into the economy using advanced computer programming.

ii)Everyone should be entitled to all their earned money as a human right.

iii)It is highly unethical to finance any misuse of government spending.

iv)People should be rewarded by a policy of Non-Taxation as they are the actual creators of real wealth.

v)Evidence suggests that many rich, and super-rich people are finding loopholes to escape the taxman notably off-shore accounts. This means that people on lower incomes have to "subsidize" the well off so to speak which ofcourse is unfair.

Moreover, it has become very easy to transmit bank accounts to other countries thus making the investigation by tax inspectors difficult in extremis.

vi)Quite a number of wars, and revolutions were caused directly, or indirectly by unfair taxes.

Electronic Registration, and Electronic Macroeconomic Accounting

In TFE prices can self-adjust naturally as much as possible, and hence supply, and demand are elastic. This is vital within the present capitalist system.

Anyway, prices would ofcourse be determined by business people. These by law would be registered electronically with the inflation department (replacing tax legislation, and possibly in part overseen by the inflation authority of a bank, or some similiar institution). Changes in prices would thus be electronically tracked whenever sales are made, and where necessary (if at all)temporary electronic price controls could be instantly created after the business customer is informed. As with todays world anonymous cash transactions would still be possible.

Most products,and/or services (including notably most wage, and income levels)would have an electronic ID by law. Thus they form part of the Registered Economy. The Unregistered Economy though makes up a small part of the entire economy. It consists of products, and/or services which are difficult to price though a price range "system" could be used.It may ofcourse suffer some serious inflation in time, and may be subjected to possible registration, and hence temporary electronic controls.

In TFE the banks under inflation legislation would have special programmes to track the registered (ie identified) transactions, and the unregistered (ie unidentified)ones plus the volume, and velocity of their exchange for goods, and services. In other words, the bank would have a largely accurate comprehension of the entire working economy. On this basis special programmes would be used to ensure that new non-repayable capital could be created, and transmitted successfully. Moreover, for economists this would be a huge boon as it would be possible to gain direct, and accurate information concerned about forcasting the sustainable growth of the entire economy. This is revolutionary.

One way in which products, and/or services could be tracked electronically is ofcourse via barcodes which already exist. Special, or modified Scanners would pick up the data, and this could be sent to a bank. Thus, we would have instant up-to-date info on retail prices. This ofcourse would be a more advanced, and accurate way than notably using the Retail Price Index.

Another approach which could be included would be for a businessman, or woman to "cash" or rather more accurately electronically monetize the orders (as is the case today but we do not usually use such language describing the actual reality of the process!)for some product, or service with a bank. A condition for this is that what has been sold has to be declosed, and identified by a special electronic code for the completion of such transactions.

It must be made abundantly clear that we are not discussing a Command Economy but rather the reverse in which a Free Price System exists. Moreover, credible legislation must ensure a high degree of data protection, and be independent to a certain extent from so-called "Big Brother" beloved of conspiracy theorists.

Some critics may argue that such a system of electronic accounting is largely unnecessary. A simpler approach would be simply to create enough necessary money for governments, and most, if not all businesses mainly as grants, and to some extent as interest free loans. If this is injected, or rather transmitted largely simultaneously it means that businesses notably would be able to expand to cater for possible increased supply, and also with increased demand over a period of time.

In spite of the possible logic of the above governments, and indeed banks (who would incidently have powers not only to lend, but also to electronically create non-repayable grants at cost ) would probably regard a largely "blind" electronic system as too risky, and thus, the Electronic Macroeconomic Accounting would be seen as being more acceptable. This gives the authorities, and the financial istitutions a "psychological fix" that allows for the creation of new money in a successful, and measured manner without fear of serious inflation. This is further reinforced by the powerful direct electronic controls over inflation..if necessary ofcourse. This is to discussed in the next section.

Possible Electronic Controls Over Inflation if Necessary.

The following gives us some insight as to how registered products, and/or services could be subjected to instant inflation controls if necessary ofcourse. These measures are like price controls of the past but are far more advanced because

a)they are super-flexible,

b) they do not require a huge bureaucracy

c) they can give instant compensation, and/or instant subsidization

d) they can correct anything instantly if necessary, and thus any money lost as a result can be re-created by electronic means as money itself is essentially electronic data

e) they could if necessary fine people, and companies directly, and electronically from their banks accounts to ensure compliance to some aspect of inflation legislation.

There are a number of inflation controls as described below:-

i) Automatic Inflation Adjustment.

This is when the inflated portion of a product, or service is subjected to an instant inflation check at the point of sale, or later on at the bank. If whatever has been bought happens to be inflated to say 10% this amount is instantly created electronically into a subsidy which goes straight into the account of the customer. Thus, income, and nominal prices rise at the same time. This avoids serious devaluation.

ii) Customer Current/Deposit Account Adjustment.

This is perhaps the easiest method than i). Here, all bank accounts could be indexed-linked electronically to the changing value of money during inflation. Something like this already exists to a limited extent(ie index-linked products, or services).

In TFE new non-repayable money could be created electronically for the bank accounts of customers. This would give rise to the "money illusion" that one has more to spend, and buy. Yet, the bank account has been adjusted to take into account inflation, and thus, ones purchasing power remains largely the same as before.

iii) Automatic Inflation Deduction.

This is when the inflated portion of a product, or service is subject to an instant inflation check in which it is reduced to its real value. In other words, the "inflated portion" is destroyed. This can be seen by some as a "tax" but it is not because money in real terms (ie.its real value as opposed to its inflated value) retains its purchasing power as if nothing had happened to it at all.

iv) Instant Electronic Price Subsidization.

If parts of the economy have persistent price rises (though arguably unlikely depending on the type, or types of computer programming)this may disturb public confidence in the monetary system. It is thus beholden by banks, and/or democratic governments to set up a programme of instant automatic price subsidization created electronically ofcourse out of new non-repayable money.

This could in part pay for the inflated portion of the market price of a product, or service,(upto a "flexible" Price Ceiling) and the rest is paid for by the customer with earned money. Such an approach may be used if the prices are not only persistent but rise too quickly.

v) Possible Price Rises, and Price Descrease Subsidization.

This is another form of subsidization. It can play an important role in preventing,and/or reducing price rises.

As the prices reach a "flexible" electronic Price Ceiling they are encouraged to decrease their retail value otherwise they are fined progressively to zero. However, as a positive incentive to start dropping their prices a subsidy acting as extra profit is instantly created. This could well mean double, or even triple profit a small part of which is given as earned money from the customer, and the rest of it is the instant creation of new non-repayable money as a subsidy.

However, this could lead to some degree of overall price distortions in the marketplace but this could be sorted out by using electronic techniques. All this ofcourse is a small price to pay for an economy which is:-

a)free of taxes

b)free of interest on loans.

b) The greater possibility of commercial grants.

c) There are no "boom" and "bust" cycles but rather a continous process of growing prosperity. Thus, businesses benefit enormously in a Transfinancial Economy.

vi) Controlled Hyperinflation.

This should be totally unnecessary as it is largely if not wholly unacceptable, and of course ridiculous. This is when businesses deal amongst themselves in "hyperinflated" pricing. However, as soon as the money enters the bank computers it is reinterpreted into its real values rather than its "astronomical" nominal/inflated equivalent. Businesses would have to understand that this is just "a change of digits" in which the purchasing power is preserved without serious currency devaluation.

Possible Demand Management.

There are certain key areas which directly, and indirectly deal with the possibility of rising demand in some, or most sectors of the economy. These are briefly presented:

a) Gradual transition of the economy to a transfinancial one to ensure that changes in demand, and supply can be dealt with successfully. Thus, tax over a few years would be phased out to zero.

b) Rigorous checks on governments, NGOs, and certain businesses(especially those concerned with sustainable technologies) to ensure that transmissions of new non-repayable money (where necessary)is going to projects which are backed up with good planning, and enough relevant resources.

c) It would be possible to know whether certain important resources are under threat by using data instantly collected from registered transmissions monitored by the bank computers of certain transactions (via mandatory ID Codes). It, and/or some other legal body (ie. the national inflation authority)may step in to suggest alternatives, and/or cease production as soon as possible of the company concerned, or else face unlimited fines directly from its business bank account.Compensation for loss of business would be possible.

The above gives one an idea of possible demand management in an interest, and tax-free economy in the modern world.

From Competative Capitalism to more Advanced Socio-Economic Alternatives.

It should be said that capitalists would make much profit in Transfinancial Economics especially in the first few decades of its introduction. But, later on it would become increasingly difficult to find new business opportunities as they would be very thin on the ground (ie. resource scarcity). Thus, take-over bids may become increasingly common for existing commercial enterprises (but special NGOs, and possibly willing governments could buy up such assets as they would now have the financial clout as never before). At long last capitalism, and capitalists will realize that money in itself cannot be the answer to everything if the relevant resources are not around for them to profit on. Infact, this will cause more problems than it would solve!

At the same time through extensive education especially of the young possibly via certain NGOs concerned with democracy, altruism, fairer distribution of wealth and non-competative/co-operative forms of "capitalism" and other economic alternatives. The present capitalist system would probably ultimately phase itself out altogether. In other words, a process of evolution.

Hence, capitalism, and its elite would not be overthrown by revolution (as envisaged by Marx), or indeed, ofcourse via a global financial meltdown but simply discarded as a stage of automation, and technology would be reached making money itself redundent as a means of exchange. Such a stage of evolution would initially be undertaken by an enchanced capitalist system because by then its production, and marketing stategies would be fully in line with sustainability, and various green technologies. This process would be aided with powerful financial incentives in the form of subsidies, interest free loans, and commericial grants notably in areas where there are little, or no obvious viable investments for profiting on. These would be created out of new capital.

Interest-Free Monetary Reform.

Apart from what has been said above radical monetary reformers tend to concentrate on banks. These commercial enterprises create most of the money of the world out of thin air as a loan, or credit with interest of course. Cash produced by governments only make a near non-existant portion of the present financial system. The aim of the monetary reformers in question is to try to bring about interest-free loans which would be beneficial to society, and the economy. Obviously, this is unlikely to happen due to the power of the banks but things may change ofcourse during the financial "meltdown".

Anyhow, banks (along with other "non-financial" companies)could continue to lend at interest but this would not be paid for by the customer but rather by an independent public body. However, when other highly profitable forms of business emerge then these can replace the creation of interest free credit, and only non-repayable money could be created at an "operational" cost. Moreover, banks would receive payment for carrying out the electronic inflation controls on a daily basis. The same would be true for their transmission of grants which could be made cheap, or expensive to produce electronically.

Some Major Implications of Transfinancial Economics.

These can be briefly listed:-

1. There would be a huge process of acceleration towards the research, and possible use of sustainable technologies backed up by profit subsidies, interest free loans, and of course grants created out of new non-repayable money. Geo-engineering notably in connection with global warming could also become serious possibilities.

2. Transnational Corporations especially in the Third World could be transformed into truly ethical, and sustainable businesses with powerful financial incentives for change including profit subsidization on a massive scale ofcourse.

3. Universal healthcare would be possible irrespective of whether private businesses are involved or not.

4. Generous pensions would be possible for an aged population without the need of income created by taxes, and/or by private long-term investments in the stock market, and other financial sources.

5. Grassroots NGOs concerned with poverty reduction in the Developed, and Developing World would be better financed as never before to bring about positive change.

6. NGOs concerned with fairer wealth distribution (or redistribution) such as Binary Economics, and Co-operatives and the like would be financed as never before to become a greater influence on society.

7. Corporations concerned with oil production, and indeed, the arms trade could be bought up in stages by new non-repayable money. At present democratic governments plus certain relevant NGOs seem powerless to do much about them but with TFE we have a very powerful solution..................

However, a grassroots organization for the masses is unlikely to work though we may be wrong. Instead it is suggested here that a professional website would be set up to spread the word. It would be sent to people, and organizations that have power, and influence such as government policy makers, academics, financial companies, et cetera. This is probably the way forward.

The TFE website itself would include the following features.

i) A news update about the campaign progress.

ii) Commissioned papers (initially) by willing economists using econometric models to show the efficacy of TFE in technical terms, including detailed studies on Electronic Registration, Electronic Macroeconomic Accounting, and the possible Inflation Controls.

iii) An online Journal of Transfinancial Economics.

iv) A powerpoint presentation of TFE for downloading.

v) Any endorsements for TFE by any willing experts.

vi) Possible field trials of the electronic technologies involved in TFE.

PS A paper on TFE with direct references was actually accepted by a peer review journal. However, due to a dispute with the editor/publisher I withdrew it from publication, and at the time of writing (April 2008) a new version has been sent elsewhere.

Mental Illness, PsychicSelf-Deception, ...and Danger!!

Posted on Dec 30th, 2008 by Bob
Over the years I have come across a few people who appear to suffer, or have suffered some form of "mental illness," and/or self-deception in connection with psychic, and spiritual matters. One person I knew used to wander at the dead of night proclaiming all manner of occult claims including the belief  of being the Messiah, and having his Third Eye fully opened.

One elderly individual called Ralph who died in April 2007 was well known in Slough as he used to bicycle about in his shorts in all climes! He was by his own admission a bit eccentric, and claimed that when he was young he was struck by a Tesla (a word he used to describe a thunderbolt which I had never come across before). He survived it, and claimed that this enhanced his health, and well-being possibly giving him inner heat for him to peddle about Slough, and its environs in his shorts whenever it was freezing!

When I used to see him Ralph often, or not talked about his late brother George who appeared to have been suffereing (if that is the right word in this context) from the delusion of being someone special to the Royal Family at nearby Windsor Castle even though he was electrician by trade! Apparently, it was claimed among other things that:-

i) He had saved King George, et al from a bomb attack at Windsor during World War II.

ii) He had been developing a number of advanced technologies (including an ant-gravity device) but the government was not interested because it would cost too much money .

iii) George, and some other "experts" managed to teleport some creature, or object from England to America, or vice versa but it caused Battersea Station to shut down!

iv) He knew Lord Mountbatten well along with other notables often being privy to special meetings, and social occassions.

v) He claimed that he appeared in two places at once!

vi) He said that  there were two, or more places in  Windsor through which one could travel back to the past by crossing over a line of light. Indeed, one story featured him taking a Medieval cup, and burying in its own time by a pub, and later in the present time dug it up. Obviously, it had deterioted somewhat through the passage of time!!

Ralph seemed to have lapped all this up, and was suprised that the Royal family had not sent a message of condolences when George sadly died! It seemed that he had being living a kind of Walter Mitty like existence, and I came across this before from someone who seemed to imagine himself being some kind of James Bond figure working in the military!

One person I came across and who happened to be a "Satsangi" of some Sant Mat group claimed to have seen certain people turn into "reptilians" (shades of David Icke to put it very mildly!), and that he believed in some kind of hidden government of the world. He also feared staring up at helicopters (invisible ones!)as  they would shoot a beam of light at him, and he would suddenly freeze!

However, such "delusions" can be dangerous, and I include here the following account in which I was actually attacked by a "nutter". In order to protect myself I have not given out the name of this individual, and use instead the pseudonym of X.

This person who regards himself as a "low standard" Sikh is a somewhat chummy, and chubby. X was interested in many aspects of the occult/paranormal, and was especially interested in dealing with "Voodo witchdoctors," and Indian psychic helpers who sometime advertized themselves in Asian papers, and mags. In the latter case, one of them had examined his hand in which he could see Xs chakras, and claimed that they were out of line..!

This could be seen perhaps as an indication of his long history of depression which he fully admited to me. Indeed, he even claimed that he had attacked someone called Kevin from behind at the local day centre. This individual had been a friend of Xs for many years apparently. Xs assault on him was stopped by a support worker who along with Kevin  it transpired (from another source)were threatened with death!

The reason for the above was because X whenever he was befriended with anyone over a period of time developed a dangerous paranoia complex! In other words, he became increasingly suspicious, and believed that he, or she was passing on information about him to the "enemies" as he called them for money!! This ofcourse is absurd as he is essentially nobody! I asked him what he meant exactly by the word "enemies". But I never really got a clear answer.

It was baffling...especially when he had such a deep interest in Sikhism, and regularly did the meditation practices prescribed by that religion (though he still drank alcohol, and was non-vegetarian). Quite often, he would discuss deep spritual philosphy, and  I mentioned Harjit Singh a spiritual teacher already discussed to some extent on this blog. X expressed some interest in him but I never  gave him his full address, or phone number for obvious reasons.it is a great shame that X had this deep psychiatric problem with paranoia, and its delusions.

Indeed, he used to think that whenever Kevin went to phone up someone in the public booth he imagined that he was passing on information about him to his enemies for money! As such X had become obssessed in somehow protecting himself from his "enemies" notably his desire to get special rings made which would protect him. He also wanted to leave town altogether after he received enough money from his alleged Court Case. He intended to "disappear" to India where he claimed he could live off his newly acquired money  invested in one, or more of the state banks there.

As time went by X became suspicious of me, and asked whether I was passing information about him to the enemies for money!!!!??? This ofcourse I denied as it was patently absurd....and made no sense at all. Things came to ahead outside the library when he chuckled at the notion that the Queen was possibly a shape-shifting repitilian (David Icke again!). He then went onto to reveal that he was going to do a sort of psychic name check on me undertaken by some Indian psychic in London! It was his way of trying to determine whether I was genuinely his friend, or not ...and apparently costing £30, or so! X also revealed that I would soon experience unusual dreams in which the psychic would probe my mind!! Needless to say nothing of the sort happened!

Vainly, I tried to explain to X that I was a genuine friend of his but it was becoming clear that he did not really believe it and that it would be a waste of time trying to convince him. He then went on to say how bad it was that anyone could betray him to the "enemies" by passing on information about him for money, and claimed that if the psychic name checked proved positive it would bring bad luck for the rest of my life.

The whole thing had by now become absurd in extremis. So, I parted with him. A few days later I  went to a certain cafe. It was infact the one which X had claimed in our last meeting was the actual place where I passed information on  him to the "enemies" for money. When he  first "realized" this he laughed at the absurdity of the notion (!)as he had been wondering why I often went to this specific cafe other than just eat, and drink! ! It was now all clear to him!!!

Anyway, on the day in question (August 28th 2008) I entered the cafe concerned and had a plate of saag(spinach), and rice. A little later X entered, and saw me. He muttered "You are doing it again. Will you never learn!" whereupon he headed straight towards me at the table, and rained down a whole load of punches. I lifted my hands, and arms to protect my face, and head. I fell off the chair, and there was short pause before he started to assault me again but this time I used my shoulder bag to protect me.

He then left as if nothing had happened, and there was stunned silence in the cafe. No one ofcourse lifted a finger to help me. No suprise there! Also, the saag, and rice I had been eating coated the wall, and the plate was smashed to pieces. My nose started to bleed, and was in part broken.

The police were called but I decided not to have X arrested, and charged even though the whole thing was probably recorded on camera. He got away scott free but if he were to do something like that again I would have no choice but to make sure he serves time, and ideally, be committed to a mental institution so that he cannot be a risk to the public with his idiot paranoid delusions.

However, he did though attack me one more time but not as seriously  as the last incident. As I was going down some steps he gave me a kick from behind, and I turned aound to confront him, and uttered my anger at him whereupon he threatened me with death or words to that affect! Now, ofcourse, I try to avoid him like the plague.

It is clear that the mind can be mislead, and distorted. Illicit drugs can also cause mental problem ofcourse. One example was a Muslim I used to know, on, and off. He claimed that he, and some friends had seen me commit a crime which was utterly false. He also said the same kind of thing (ie. false accusation based on an imaginary experience)to someone else I knew. It transpired that ofcourse he had taken certain drugs which could give rise to powerful delusions about people.

He was also a member of the Sheikh Nazeem sect based in Cyprus. This is a Sufi organization. I once asked him about his inner experiences, and he was amazed to find that I knew about certain basic details concerned about his initial meditation experiences which were similiar to Shabd Yoga, and other types of practices.

Ofcourse, drugs especially LSD can lead to "mystical" or rather psychic type experiences, and these can be similiar if not seemingly identical to genuine ones had through non-drug induced meditations.

The person I notably mentioned right at the start of this blog entry also had drug problems, and clearly it contributed to his delusions of being something spiritually special, and extraordinary. As far as I know X did not do drugs save alcohol which can arguably be regarded as being something very similiar.

As I mentioned in the blog article The Realization of the Psychic I have never ever taken drugs, or indeed, legal psychiatric ones. Moreover, I hate alcohol, and never drink the stuff, and I am ofcourse a pure vegetarian.
